Who We Are

Angela Ruiz, MS CCC-SLP

Meet Angela

Hello! I’m Angela, though most people call me Angie, or simply Mom. I’ve been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2008, but my journey in this field began much earlier—in 1996, when my brother Sam was born.

Sam became my greatest inspiration, shifting my path from English education to Communication Sciences and Disorders -Speech Pathology. His influence didn’t just shape my career choice; it ignited a lifelong passion for creating a better, more accessible world for individuals with communication needs and life long disability.

My Background

As a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist from South Texas, I’ve called Houston home since 2008. My career has taken me through diverse settings, beginning in pediatrics before transitioning to medical speech-language pathology. Each experience has enriched my understanding of communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan.

Over the years, I’ve developed specialized expertise in several key areas:

Voice Disorders – Helping clients restore and optimize their vocal function

Parkinson’s Disease – Supporting individuals in maintaining communication and swallowing abilities

Dementia Care – Providing strategies to enhance communication and quality of life

Dysphagia – Addressing swallowing difficulties to ensure safe nutrition and hydration

Today, I’m excited to bring all of this specialized experience together in my own private practice, where I can provide personalized, compassionate care tailored to each client’s unique needs.

My Approach

My work is driven by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to communicate effectively and eat stress-free. Whether working with children finding their voice or adults reclaiming theirs, I’m committed to creating meaningful connections and lasting improvements in my clients’ lives.
